Manteca's Bass Pro Shop to kick of Fishing Classic Feb 27th

The Manteca Bass Pro Shop will host their 2009 Spring Fishing Classic event February 27- March 15, 2009. This huge event will feature a boat show, celebrity and pro fishermen, fishing reel trade-ins, and vendor and pro seminars. Ripon library to host storyteller Kirk Waller on Thursday February 19

The Ripon Memorial Library continues to celebrate February's Black History Month by hosting a special performance by speaker and storyteller Kirk Waller on Thursday February 19 at 3:30pm. Kirk will entertain children through his mime, musicality, and high energy performance.  Kirk's CD Quack, Gabble, Squawk and Other Animal Tales was a 2008 Parent's Choice Award Recipient. Entry tickets to this free program will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis one hour before the program.

This program is being made possible by donations made to the Friends of the Ripon Memorial Library.

Fresno County Blossom Trail opens March 7

This self-guided motor or bicycle tour is organized by the Fresno County Blossom Trail Committee, a partnership between the County of Fresno and the Chambers of Commerce in Sanger, Kingsburg, Reedley, Orange Cove, Selma and Fowler to celebrate and feature the beauty of Fresno County's agriculture and a few historical points of interest. Panoramas of orchards full of fruit trees alive with fragrance and bursting with blossoms await you.

AMGEN Tour of California cycles into California Feb 14-22

AMGEN Tour of California 2009 returns on February 14, 2009 in Sacramento California. The event will feature some of the world's top cyclists including Lance Armstrong. Stage 1 of the AMGEN Tour will begin on Sunday February 15TH with riders cycling from Davis to Santa Rosa. With 8 stages in all, the tour will visit local cities including Sacramento, Modesto, and Merced.  Fans of this event can visit the official AMGEN 2009 website to find out what days and times that the tour will be visiting your local city. Online video streaming will also be available come race day.

California Museum to feature Lincoln Bicentennial Exhibit
